A house at last!! ...we hope...

Well, hopefully we have jumped through our last flaming hoop and will be closing on a house next Monday. So the rest of this week and all of next will be a flurry of Pack/Clean/Move/Repeat.... While I am grateful beyond words for our hosts patience and infinite kindness in allowing us to live in their home for well over a year, it truly is time to move into a place of our own. I never expected our stay with friends to last as long as it has... heck, we started house hunting in June!

So here we are 6 days away.... I'm holding my breath! Saying a prayer! ...and hoping that nothing goes wrong!!!

Feel free to join me.... we can use all the help we can get!

A while back a decision was made at my work.... it was a shortcut, it meant that something important wasn't being done correctly. I agreed to abide by the decison and to perform a task incorrectly. A couple of months later upper management finally noticed that the task in question was being done incorrectly and ordered me to do it right.... and so now I am doing it correctly.

On Saturday, upper management decided to blame me for the decision and thus write me up.... I informed them that, I was not the source of the decision and that I was only following my supervisor's orders. So tonight my supervisor gets to state his case... if he tells the truth, I'll be fine... if he doesn't, well we'll see.....

Isn't life grand!

Well, our second attempt at buying a house has ended in failure!! So back out we go to find something to put a bid on while we still have time...

It's fustrating! It's annoying! We are doing everything that we a supposed to do- but we keep getting screwed over. I guess the only people that are allowed to buy houses are those that can afford 60k and up!!!

What makes it worse is that we are on a deadline.... we only have so long to find a house before we run out of time to get the special tax credit...and the clock is ticking on our current residence.

(Did I mention that I have some truly wonderful and patient friends!)

Anyway, wish us luck!!!

I have come to a couple of conclusions:

1. Banks are Jerks!
2. Realtors are useless!
3. ....and I'm never going to find a good house in my price range!

My wife and I shared a wonderful, romantic and candlelit dinner this evening. There is nothing quite like spending time sharing life with the person you love.

Tonight I take the Wal-Mart management aptitude test... wish me luck!

I'm beginning to think that my life is a roller-coaster. Was pretty high up over the weekend.... dropped down into the basement on Mon-Tue... and now it looks like I'm heading back to the top again! Let's see how long I can stay there.....

My wife and I had the most wonderful dinner together this weekend! We are planning to make it a semi-regular occurence... you know with candlelight, music, etc.

Work is going well.... getting closer to a promotion (i hope)

Ever have one of THOSE dreams....

This morning I woke up expecting Alissa not to have to go to work and here's why:

I dreamed that she worked for an Anime Zoo for monsters and that the zoo had called her and told her not to come in today. You see it was raining and the zoo was worried that is they brought the monsters out that their ink would runa nd they would melt. So instead they asked Alissa to be on backup superhero duty. Now she agreed but was unhappy.... she doesn't like being on superhero duty for a number of reasons. The most important being that she doesn't fly very well and when she does superhero work it can conflict with my job.

You see in the dream I was a Super Evil Mastermind working for Wal-Mart. I told her that it was ok if she did superhero work but she was worried that she would have to stop one of my evil plots. I responded saying that since I got paid by the plot and she by the heroic deed that it was a win-win situation for both of us! Then she asked me about our vacation to europe.... and I said "Why don't we go to Eygpt instead I'm about to blow up Europe?"

Well I'm back from DragonCon 07!

I had a wonderful time!!!!

The CON:

Pros:   Cool guests
               informative panels
               Fun events
             Gaming!!!Gaming!!!Gaming!!!
             EYECANDY!!!!!!!
             Meeting Old friends

Cons: Crowded
                  Con Security: (Overworked=ill-tempered)
                 Event organization and Location
                 Hotel Room Issues
                  "Drama"

My wife's Best friend came down to visit and stayed with us at the Con.   I like her and her fiance very much, and think that I made a good impression.

For Anyone who cares: I had a vesectomy! Yup- no more children for me! No it was not fun!

Secoia and I are MOVING on Saturday!!!!!

Whoever said that "Knowledge is Power" was wrong. Knowledge is not power...it is a burden and a hardship. It is heavy and cumbersome and I honestly wish that I did not possess so much of it........

Whoever said that "The Truth shall set you Free" was wrong. Nothing can bind you more tightly than the truth. It can make it very hard to walk.....

Whoever said that "Time heals all wounds" was wrong. Time heals nothing. It just makes it easier to ignore the pain.....

Whoever said that "Silence is Golden" was absolutely right!
